Airr — Privacy Policy & Terms

Last updated July 2026 · Airr is a flight-search app.

Privacy Policy

Airr is operated by Zidane Berhanu (Georgia, United States), the data controller for the limited data described below.

What we store on your device

Your name, home airport, profile photo, saved trips, and search history are stored on your phone (and your iCloud backup if you use it).

What we send to our server

When you search, we send your route, dates, passengers, cabin, your home airport (used as the default departure point when you don't name one), and any airlines you've chosen to hide, to the Airr backend so it can find fares — together with an anonymous random device ID, a UUID we generate on first launch, not your name, email, Apple ID, or any personal identifier. We use the device ID only for aggregate daily usage counts. If you tap Share on a deal, that trip's flight details are also sent to our server to generate the shareable link (no name or photo is included).

Launch waitlist (website only)

If you join the waitlist on flyairr.com, we store the email address you give us, when you joined, and where you came from (e.g. Instagram). We use it for one thing: telling you about Airr's launch and early access. It is never sold or shared, and every email includes a one-tap unsubscribe. To have your address removed at any time, email support@flyairr.com.

Price alerts (Airr Pro)

If you subscribe to Airr Pro and save a trip for price alerts, we store that trip's route and dates on our server, tied to your anonymous device ID, so we can keep re-checking the fare while your phone is asleep and let you know if it drops. We delete it when you remove the saved trip, and it is automatically removed once the flight date has passed.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, your device gives us an Apple-issued push token, which we store against your anonymous device ID purely so we can send you a fare-drop alert. When a saved Pro fare drops, our server sends that alert to your device through Apple; if we can't reach you that way, your app shows the alert itself the next time you open it. Free-user notifications are generated on your device. We use the push token only to deliver these alerts — never to profile you — and it's removed when Apple tells us it's no longer valid (for example, if you uninstall Airr) or when you delete your last saved trip. Turning notifications off in iOS Settings stops them.

Subscriptions

Airr Pro is billed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your card details. Your subscription status is checked on-device via Apple.

Third parties

Flight prices come from third-party flight-data providers. To show fares in your local currency we fetch daily exchange rates from a third-party currency-rate service, and we may look up your approximate region from your IP address via a geolocation service; airline logos and destination photos load from third-party image hosts. These services receive your device's IP as part of a normal request, but we don't send them your name, saved trips, or search history. Booking links take you to airlines or travel partners, who have their own privacy policies.

What we don't do

We don't sell your data, run third-party ad trackers, or build an advertising profile of you.

Your rights (GDPR & CCPA)

Airr works without an account and stores no name, email, or contact details. On our server we hold only an anonymous random device ID, aggregate daily counts, — if you use Pro price alerts — the routes and dates you chose to watch, and, if you allowed notifications, an Apple-issued push token for your device (used only to deliver fare-drop alerts). To delete watch data, remove the saved trip in the app (it also auto-deletes after the flight); removing your last saved trip also deletes your push token, and deleting the app stops any further data being sent. We don't sell or share personal information (CCPA / CPRA), and we process this minimal data under legitimate interest to run the search and the alerts you asked for (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). EU/UK and California users may contact us with any privacy request — including erasure of watch data tied to your device ID — at support@flyairr.com.

Children

Airr is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Terms of Use

Your use of Airr is governed by our Terms of Use.
